We help people start\, manage\, grow\, and sell their small businesses.  We exist because we love to see people succeed and achieve their dreams!\n\n\n\nChristine has over 25 years of business and industry experience.  Christine grew up in a family of small business owners.  She has a Masters degree in Human Resources and worked in Human Resources Management with Kraft Foods.  Christine is a nationally recognized and certified trainer and public speaker.  She has served as the Director of the Laurel Ridge SBDC for seven years.  She was named top business consultant/director for the Virginia Small Business Development Center Network 2019.\n\nThe Laurel Ridge SBDC provides free and objective guidance to set up your business for success. Our resources include checklists\, resources on county\, city and state processes\, and our comprehensive planning guide.\n\nAll of the steps and considerations one must undertake when they start a business can seem overwhelming. Make no mistake\, the process requires dedication and commitment\, and the eventual success of your business concept will depend heavily on the investment of time and thought at the start. Most entrepreneurs underestimate how long it will take\, and you should prepare to invest weeks and months rather than days.\n\n\n\nWhile that might sound discouraging\, many entrepreneurs before you have done it and so can you! The more understanding and expertise you have in your particular area\, or the more time you're willing to invest in extensive research\, or even working for a while for someone else in that area\, the better prepared you will be.\n\nA lunch and learn is a departure from your typical workday meeting. Unlike meetings that tend to adhere to known formats\, lunch and learns are decidedly non-standard events with varying topics\, presenters\, and structures. They offer the opportunity to share fun\, interesting\, or otherwise relevant knowledge in a casual and apprehension-free environment. Attendees walk away feeling upbeat\, inspired\, and more-closely connected with their peers.
