Fall Cleanup Along Blackwell Road

The Fauquier Chamber of Commerce is proud to return to the roadside this fall as part of our ongoing commitment to VDOT's Adopt-A-Highway program! On this day, volunteers will join Chamber staff as we roll up our sleeves to maintain our adopted stretch of Blackwell Road between Route 15 and Blackwell Park Lane, keeping it clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone who travels through our community.

All cleanup supplies will be provided, and we encourage Chamber members, local businesses, and community friends to come out and be part of this meaningful effort. It's a great way to connect, give back, and show what makes Fauquier such a special place to live and work.

Together, we can make a visible difference and continue to prove that when business and community come together, we build a better Fauquier.

Meeting and check in: 28 Blackwell Park Lane, Warrenton. All volunteers are asked to park in this lot; it serves as our designated meeting and check in area before we begin the cleanup.

Event Details

Arrival: Please arrive 5 to 10 minutes early for check in and supply pickup.

Meeting and parking: Park at 28 Blackwell Park Lane. This is our designated meeting and check in area. The volunteer parking area is marked with red dots on the map above.

What to Wear

Comfortable clothing you don't mind getting dirty.
Water resistant footwear suitable for roadside and grass shoulders.

What We'll Provide

Gloves, safety vests, and trash bags.
Brief on site instructions before we begin.

Weather Notice

This is a rain or shine event unless conditions become unsafe. If we must cancel or delay, we'll notify volunteers by email.

Safety Reminders

Stay off travel lanes and face oncoming traffic when working along shoulders.
Work in pairs or small groups and keep a safe distance from moving vehicles.
Wear your safety vest at all times; use gloves when handling litter.
Do not pick up hazardous items (needles, chemicals, sharp objects, animal remains); alert Chamber staff if encountered.
Lift carefully, hydrate as needed, and use sunscreen as appropriate.
