Parenting in the Digital Age
Parenting in the Digital Age is a free community event designed to give parents, grandparents, caregivers and other caring adults practical tools to help keep children safer online.
Join us for an afternoon with nationally recognized internet safety and human trafficking experts Alan Wilkett, Advisor on Human Trafficking with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and Donna Rice Hughes, President and CEO of Enough Is Enough. They will address online predators, child exploitation, sextortion, social media, gaming, pornography, artificial intelligence and other digital risks—and, most importantly, what parents can do about them.
You’ll learn how to set boundaries, use privacy and safety settings, recognize warning signs, have difficult conversations with your children and know when and how to report concerns. The program will include plenty of Q&A, practical resources and community organizations available to help.
Doors open at 2:30 p.m. for check-in and resource booths, with the formal program beginning at 3 p.m. The program concludes around 5 p.m., followed by refreshments, networking and additional time to connect with community resources. The event is FREE, but pre-registration is encouraged.
We are also welcoming vendors and organization to participate. If interested, please follow the registration instructions to be considered for participating.
