Fauquier County Announces New Deputy County Administrator

Fauquier County Administrator, Janelle Downes, is pleased to announce Mallory Stribling as the new Deputy County Administrator. “This position will be integral as we move to setting the standard for quality financial services and systems” states Ms. Downes. In her new role, she will continue to provide budgetary oversight and planning. Ms. Stribling brings 11 years of experience with the County, currently serving as Director of Management and Budget. Mr. Richard Gerhardt, Chair of the Board of Supervisors states, “Ms. Stribling’s work on the FY 2025 budget has shown her commitment to collaboration and fiscal integrity. She found winning outcomes in various areas of the budget, and I am confident in her new role that she will continue to make a positive impact.”

Ms. Stribling brings a strong multi-faceted background to the role, originally branching from project management consulting. Prior to Fauquier, she worked for Booz Allen Hamilton and supported defense clients in the areas of change management and strategic communications.

Ms. Stribling holds a Master of Public Administration from George Mason University, a Graduate Certificate in Local Government Management from Virginia Tech, and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Boston University. She is a Project Management Professional and is a graduate of the 2018 Leadership Fauquier Class and 2019 GFOA Leadership Academy based out of the College of Charleston. Ms. Stribling was named County Government Employee of the Year in 2018.

Outside of work, Ms. Stribling enjoys running, reading, chasing after her two boys, and spending time at her husband’s family farm in northern Fauquier, Stribling Orchard.
