Fauquier Health Cardiac Rehab Program Earns Certification

WARRENTON, VIRGINIA, October 22, 2024 – Fauquier Health Cardiac Rehabilitation Program has once again earned certification by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). Certified continually since 2018, the Fauquier Health program works with area residents who have heart conditions to improve their health. AACVPR has awarded the certification as “recognition of Fauquier Health’s commitment to improving the quality of life of patients by enhancing standards of care.”

“To earn accreditation, Fauquier Health Cardiac Rehabilitation participates in an application process that requires extensive documentation of the program’s practices,” said Valarie Washington, MHA, BSN-RN, Director of Cardiovascular Services. “AACVPR Program Certification is the only peer-reviewed accreditation process that reviews adherence to standards and guidelines considered best practices by AACVPR and other related professional societies.

“I’d especially like to recognize Linda Costello, RN, the clinical supervisor for the Wellness Center. Linda and her team were tireless in their efforts to first get us accredited, and then to maintain that recognition.”

Cardiovascular rehabilitation programs are designed to help people with cardiovascular problems such as heart attacks and coronary artery bypass graft surgery recover more quickly and have a healthier lifestyle. The program includes exercise, education, counseling and support for patients and families.

“At Fauquier Health, our Cardiac Rehab program is continually working to improve lives in our community. I am so proud of the team effort that earned this recognition,” said Rebecca Segal, FACHE, Fauquier Health Chief Executive Officer. “Their commitment to quality patient care and improved outcomes is truly impressive.”

AACVPR-certified programs are leaders in the cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation field because they offer the most advanced practices available and have proven track records of high-quality patient care. AACVPR Program Certification is valid for three years.
