Program Specialist

The Program Specialist plays a key leadership role in developing, implementing, and evaluating programs that support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their families throughout Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange, and Rappahannock counties. Position is responsible for leading programs for people with disabilities and their families including the Volunteer Program. As a critical team member of this small and growing nonprofit organization, we are looking for an enthusiastic, hard-working, applicant who is dedicated to supporting people with developmental disabilities. This part-time position requires 20–25 hours per week and offers a flexible hybrid schedule that includes regular in-person office hours in Warrenton, telework, online meetings, in-person events, and occasional evening and weekend events. Compensation: $18 –$20 per hour.

Responsibilities:
● Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of organizational programs
● Assist with reports, resource materials, mailings, registrations, and program documentation
● Maintain program records on organizational database and Google Drive
● Provide program updates and success stories for newsletters, social media, and reports
● Assist with recruiting, scheduling, and supervising program and event volunteers during a variety of program development and implementation tasks
● Build relationships with families and businesse
● Represent The Arc of NCV at community meetings, outreach events, and partnership activities
● Assist with meeting preparation, trainings, workshops, board meetings, and events
● Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director

Qualifications:
● Strong oral and written communication skills
● Proficiency with office technology including Email, Google Workspace, Zoom
● Strong organizational, project management, problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn
● Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
● Ability to organize work and meet deadlines
● Access to high-speed internet
● Ability to move objects weighing up to 25 pounds
● Willing to travel within the Culpeper and Fauquier area
● Availability to work occasional evening and weekend hours
