Warrenton, VA — F&M Bank is pleased to announce the addition of Lauren Buffum as Senior Vice President, Market Executive serving Warrenton and the greater Fauquier County community. With more than two decades of banking experience spanning retail, small business, commercial lending, and trust services, Buffum brings a well-rounded and relationship-driven approach to her new role.
 
Buffum’s career reflects a deep commitment to helping individuals, families, and businesses navigate their financial journeys with confidence. “Banking and financial health are two of the most important aspects of someone’s life,” said Buffum. “Being able to guide clients, from understanding the basics to planning for long-term success, gives me a sense of purpose. These conversations truly help people sleep better at night.” 
 
A Northern Virginia native, Buffum was born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Manassas before settling in Fauquier County with her family. Drawn to the area’s balance of rural charm and accessibility, she values the strong agricultural roots and close-knit community that define the region. 
 
Throughout her career, Buffum has demonstrated strong leadership and a passion for service. She is a graduate of George Mason University and has completed BB&T’s Leadership Development Program, earned the Certified Trust Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA) designation, and completed the ABA Executive Leadership program. Her community involvement is equally impressive, including serving as Treasurer for the Fauquier Free Clinic, Past President of the Warrenton Rotary Club, and Treasurer for multiple nonprofit organizations. 
 
In her new role, Buffum will lead F&M Bank’s efforts to grow and strengthen relationships in the Fauquier County market. She views this opportunity as a culmination of her career experience. “This role allows me to bring together everything I’ve learned throughout my career to lead a team and serve our community,” she said. “I’m excited to expand F&M Bank’s presence and continue building meaningful relationships here.” 
 
Known for her outgoing personality, authenticity, and wholehearted approach, Buffum emphasizes the importance of being present in every interaction and staying true to her values, qualities that have shaped her success and will guide her leadership at F&M Bank. 
 
Outside of work, Buffum enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, often attending wrestling tournaments, dance competitions, and cheer events. She also enjoys outdoor activities and time at the lake with her family.
