Laurel Ridge Release: College sponsoring Valley Baseball League game
For Immediate Release:
Enjoy the July 19 Cannons v. Royals baseball game on Laurel Ridge
Laurel Ridge is taking you out to the ball game! The college is sponsoring the game between the Winchester Royals and the Purcellville Cannons Saturday, July 19, at Bridgeforth Stadium in Jim Barnett Park. Admission will be free for everyone.
Prior to Laurel Ridge President Kim Blosser throwing out the first pitch at 7 p.m., the National Anthem will be sung by current student Caitlin Riddle and her sister, Corinne, a Laurel Ridge alumna. Get there early so you can be sure to grab some Laurel Ridge swag – sunglasses, T-shirts, stickers and pennants will be given out.
College mascot Leo the Lion will be catching the action, and our outreach specialist/career coach Brandon Doores will be set up under a Laurel Ridge tent ready to answer any questions you may have regarding our more than 75 degree and certificate programs, 40-plus fast-track career training programs and our numerous corporate training opportunities.
“Our CHASE (Care, Health and Sustainability for Employees) Committee is excited to co-sponsor this family-friendly event with the President’s Office,” said Laurel Ridge Marketing Director Guy Curtis. “What better way to meet our neighbors and community members than through America’s favorite pastime?”
The Royals and the Cannons are part of the Valley Baseball League, which traces its history back to 1897. The league is part of the National Alliance of College Summer Baseball, according to its website. For more information about the game, please visit laurelridge.edu/royals.
