Art Studio 81 Welcomes Acclaimed Regional Painter Vicki Bayol as August Visiting Artist Award-winning Loudoun Sketch Club member to showcase vibrant, multi-medium works; Public invited to "Meet the Artist" opening reception on August 7th.

WARRENTON, VA — Art Studio 81 is thrilled to announce award-winning regional painter Vicki Bayol as its featured Visiting Artist for the month of August 2026. To celebrate her residency and vibrant collection, the community is invited to a public "Meet the Artist" reception on Friday, August 7th, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the studio’s gallery space in historic downtown Warrenton.

Bayol’s upcoming exhibition brings the brilliant colors and sensory textures of the natural world indoors. Primarily a self-taught artist driven by a deep appreciation for creation, her work spans both striking realism and expressive abstraction. Whether translating the tactile beauty of blooming flowers, the rich warmth of a landscape, or the intimate essence of a portrait, Bayol’s ultimate goal is to evoke a visceral connection.

"I am at my happiest when the weather is warm and there are beautiful things to see, hear, smell, taste, and touch all around me," says Bayol. "My aim is to paint flowers that make you want to touch them, food that makes you want to eat it, and people and animals that make you want to learn their story."

Bayol’s artistic journey began with childhood crayons, evolved into a co-owned mural painting business with her sister, and eventually transitioned into dedicated canvas work. Never content to stop learning, she has mastered acrylics, watercolor, gouache, colored pencil, and mixed media. Visitors to the August exhibition will get a firsthand look at her latest artistic chapter: a compelling exploration into oil painting.

Since 2017, Bayol has been an active member of the historic Loudoun Sketch Club (founded in 1944), utilizing the region's diverse landscapes to hone her en plein air techniques. Her distinct talent earned her the "Excellence in Art" award in October 2024 for her piece Fall at the Cottages, painted on-site at Meadowkirk in Middleburg, Virginia.

Now turning her talents toward the local Fauquier County community, Bayol is making the most of her 2026 residency at Art Studio 81, using the Main Street location as a collaborative hub to create, study, and instruct.

"I have been thoroughly enjoying having a studio close to home where I can paint, learn, and teach," Bayol shares. "I am grateful to God for the health and talent to do something that brings such joy, and I look forward to continuing my membership at this wonderful new studio in downtown Warrenton."

The public is warmly invited to view the exhibition throughout August, meet Bayol in person on August 7th, and experience the local landscapes and vibrant narratives captured in her work.
